Cabinet Secretary

Lion Bob joined the Greensboro Host Lions Club in March 1990 and has served there continuously since then. He served as Club President in 1997-98 and again in 2017-18. This is his sixth year as Club Secretary and his fourth year as District 31-O Cabinet Secretary.

Lion Bob has also served multiple terms as Zone Chair, Region Chair and Chair of Agencies for the Deaf and Blind. He has also served as Diabetes Chair. He is the recipient of numerous Club, District and International Awards including a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship, an International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, the William Woolard Partner-in-Service, the NC Ambassador and the Lions Clubs International Leadership Medal. He is very appreciative and humbled to have received these awards as well as those from his club.

Bob is a 1972 graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a BS degree in Industrial Technology. He spent 40 years working in manufacturing including 24 years at Industries of the Blind, Inc in Greensboro, NC. He retired in 2013. He is a four-year US Air Force veteran and served from 1964-1968.

Lion Bob and his wife Bettie have been married for 46 years and they have two daughters, Kelly and Ashley.
