
Lion Bob Gwyn joined the Greensboro Host Lions Club in March 1990 and has had continuous membership since then in the Host Club. He served as Club President in 1997-98 and again in 2017-18. He is presently serving his fourth year as Club Secretary.
His district service includes two terms as zone chairman, two as region chairman, Chairman of Agencies for the Deaf and Blind (twice) and Diabetes Chair. He has received the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation and is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, a William L. Woolard Partner-in-Service, recognition as an “Unsung Hero” and multiple Lion of the Year awards.
Bob graduated from NC A&T University with a BS degree in Industrial Technology and worked in the manufacturing sector for 40 years including time with the Industries of the Blind in Greensboro. He is a four-year U.S. Air Force veteran having served between 1964-68.
Lion Bob and his wife, Bettie, have two daughters, Kelly and Ashley. His hobbies include travel, photography, reading and old model train collecting.
