Siler City Lions Club
Lion Juanita Brown joined the Siler City Lions Club in February 2015. She served as club president from 2017-2019, and as club treasurer and Zone 10 Chair since 2020. As president, she organized the club’s first Run To See 5K. Lion Juanita has been awarded Dr. Lacy and Ester Presnell VIP Ambassador Award and received the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation.
Lion Juanita is a graduate of Randolph Community College and High Point University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Information Systems. Juanita has served as her church secretary for over 20 years and as President of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Professional Association of United Methodist Church Secretaries (PAUMCS). She is a founding member of the New Hope Community Fellowship in Archdale, NC where she manages the church’s web page and serves as chief communion steward.
Lion Juanita served the State of North Carolina for 32 years, with over 15 years as a Driver’s License supervisor.
Juanita is passionate about learning new opportunities to serve and will be leading 31-O’s Global Membership Team this year. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, working in her yard, and spending time with her family and friends. She is Mom to 2 children and Grandma to 6 grandchildren.
JARIUS M. GARNER
2nd Vice District Governor
North Moore Lions Club
Lion Jarius joined the North Moore Lions Club in November 2020. Jarius is a charter member and President for the first two years. Jarius was Zone 4 chair for two years and District Environmental Chair. Jarius has received the International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, Zone Excellence award and a Sid L. Scruggs, III Beacon of Hope Fellowship, Light House award. Jarius grew up in Robbins, NC and has a degree in Radiological Science and Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He is now the director of medical sonography for Pinehurst Radiology Group in Pinehurst, NC. He enjoys breeding purebred Gelbvieh cattle on the family farm, Garner Farms in Northern Moore County. Jarius ensures environmental conservation on the farm through clean water, forestry, and wildlife preservation. Jarius has volunteered for 42 years as a certified firefighter and EMT and served as Chief for 11 years. He has now taken the roll of Deputy Chief in charge of finance and grant operations. Jarius was the Chairperson for the Robbins Farmers Day event for over 20 years and during his leadership the festival was one of the Top Twenty Events in the southeast. Jarius attends Smyrna Church and is Chairperson of the Administrative Council, member of the finance committee and choir. Jarius’ vision is to build our membership through cyber technology and to work to increase our Leo membership. He sees every club eventually offering zoom technology and having a future cyber branch club. Those that could not attend meetings due to logistical reasons will now have an opportunity to participate. Jarius’ desire is for our Lions and Leos to work closely together on projects to build long-lasting relationships that will be the building blocks of our future Lion clubs. Jarius and his wife Lion Anne together have three adult children.
